Short answer

We test protein powders, BCAA and EAA formulas, pre-workouts, creatine products, gummies and ready-to-drink products by HPLC: the free amino acid profile (AA-1, $150) and creatine quantitation (CR-1, $120) against your label claim, each with chromatogram and QC. Target turnaround: 5 business days.

Label-claim checks

A protein powder, BCAA formula or pre-workout sells on its numbers: grams of protein, BCAAs, glutamine, arginine or creatine per serving. We measure the free amino acids and creatine in the finished product and report them against the label — % w/w, mg per serving or mg per mL — with the chromatogram and the run's QC behind every number. See amino acid analysis and creatine testing.

Amino spiking detection

Padding a blend with cheap amino acids such as glycine or taurine to inflate the apparent protein content shows up in the free amino acid profile: added glycine or taurine appear as peaks that a pure whey or BCAA blend should not have. For the protein itself, total amino acid analysis (AA-T, $230) after acid hydrolysis gives the amino acid composition of the protein in the product, which you can compare with the label. See the amino acid spiking test for how that screen reads.

Lot consistency

Send retained samples from successive lots and we profile them under the same method. The overlaid chromatograms and the per–amino-acid table show whether the blend drifted between lots — a change in a single amino acid often traces back to a raw-material or blending change worth investigating.

What to send

Sample typeTypical amount
Powder or raw material5 g in a sealed container
Capsules or tablets5 units
Gummies5 pieces, in their packaging
Ready-to-drink50 mL, sealed

Include the label claim and serving size so we can report against them. See how to submit samples.

Price and turnaround

AA-1, the free amino acid profile, is $150 per sample. CR-1, creatine quantitation, is $120 per sample. AA-T, total amino acids after acid hydrolysis, is $230 per sample ($150 analysis + $80 hydrolysis). The order minimum is $150. Target turnaround: 5 business days from receipt.
